Our Story

Blake Fell Apparel is an independent clothing brand rooted in the western Lake District.

How it started

I grew up with the Lakes on the doorstep, and I still spend plenty of time out around Ennerdale, Loweswater and Buttermere. Sometimes that's a walk up on the fells, sometimes it's a ride on the bike or a muddy dog walk. The weather rarely does exactly what you want, but that's part of living here.

I founded Blake Fell Apparel to create clothing with a genuine connection to the places I know and spend time in. The name comes from a local fell, and the designs are inspired by familiar landscapes, well-used paths and everyday life in the western Lakes.

What we make

We focus on comfortable, understated T-shirts, layers and accessories for everyday wear, on and off the fells. The details are simple and the place names mean something. We aren't trying to dress up ordinary clothing as expedition equipment.

Our Lakes Series takes the shapes of familiar waters, including Ennerdale, Buttermere and Loweswater, and turns them into quiet contour designs. They are a nod to the places people return to, rather than just another graphic on a T-shirt.

More than a clothing shop

We also share walks and routes from the Lake District, particularly the western fells. These are places I know and spend time exploring. If a route helps someone discover a corner of the Lakes they might otherwise have missed, that's a good result in itself.

How orders work

Many items are produced to order by specialist fulfilment partners, while some are held in limited stock. Depending on the product, your order may be prepared and dispatched directly by a production partner. This approach helps us avoid holding unnecessary stock.
